Childhood 8

Jackie, Dad (Jack), and Peggy. We have moved to Chandler, Arizona, eight miles from Williams Air Force Base and Dad has to commute to work; he can no longer come home for lunch. We are continuing to use the Hudson as the backdrop in our photos. No surprise, since Dad was a car salesman before he became Fire Inspector.

Jackie (me on the left) and Peggy stand in front of their new home in Chandler, Arizona. Mother's Great Aunt (?) left her $1000 which provided the down payment. Mother (Pearl) continues to make us matching Easter dresses. The purses are from her brother, our Uncle Jack when he was in the Phillipines. I do not remember these hats. We have pretty dress shoes, but we only got to wear them for special occasions. Mother wanted "support for our feet", so we had to wear ugly saddle oxfords to school. I am 8 and in third grade.
